Our In-care Student,Izzie Radford-Nash
Greetings in the Name of Our Lord, Jesus Christ!
It is a great pleasure to be writing this brief “Bio” for inclusion in the Elm Street Newsletter, although it is difficult to know where to begin. Let me start at the beginning, with a few details about me.
My name is Izzie Radford-Nash – yes, it really IS “Izzie” – and I was born and raised in England. I lived there all my life before immigrating to the United States in 1998. Since moving to the USA, I have always lived in Maine…initially in Washington County, then in Hancock County, and currently in Brewer. I was raised in the Church of England, which, in case you are not aware, is basically the ‘mother-church’ from which the Episcopalians emerged. Although I was raised in the Church of England, I find that Congregationalism is a much better ‘fit’ for me, and hence am now a member of First Congregational Church, UCC, in Brewer, where I also serve on the Board of Trustees. My prior employment history includes Social Work and Nursing in England; and employment with the State of Maine here in the US (which required me to become a Notary Public).
I started attending Bangor Theological Seminary in the fall of 2007, and will be graduating next May with a Master
of Divinity degree. During the coming school year -- my senior year at BTS -- I will be completing my Mentored
Practice requirement (Very similar to an Internship), and will be working alongside Rev Linda as the Student Pastor
at Elm Street Congregational Church. This is a very exciting prospect, and I look forward to working with you all in the coming year.
